Benito Juárez was born a full-blooded Zapotec Indian in Oaxaca, Mexico (1806), originally studied for priesthood but emerged as a prominent leader who helped extended rights to Mexican people. He was elected president and became an international hero for his leadership against fighting the French and foreign occupation, "a preeminent symbol of resistance to foreign intervention”. Impeccably honest, he never used public office for personal gain. His modest way of life reflected his simple tastes, even after his marriage to a Oaxacan woman 17 years his junior. Prejudices of the 19th century served to emphasize and enhance Juárez’s extraordinary qualities, achievements, rise to transform ideas into permanent realities, and fight against prevalent social attitudes toward all Native Americans. He is a historical legacy, was a charismatic leader whose influence strongly resonates today, and the inspiration behind Don Benito Tequila brand.
Don Benito Tequila is our new brand and transition from Juan De León Tequila (limited edition brand). This is only the beginning so take your time, look around, learn all there is to know about us, and drop us a line anytime.
Yes, Don Benito Tequila really is the same juice as award winning Juan De León Tequila.
Blanco is immediately chilled after distillation to freeze out impurities, then bottled. Sweet, smooth, spicy, citrusy, buttery, herbal floral, and agave plant is very prominent. Unforgettable notes of citrus, fruit, vanilla, earth and minerals.
Rested for 1 lunar cycle (30 days) in un-charred French white oak barrels sourced from Napa Valley, that were formerly used to make Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The tequila takes a unique pink color, enriching the natural agave flavor, imbuing the tequila with floral and fruit accents from the red wine tannins that stained the inside of the wine barrels.
Aged for 6 months in hand-crafted French white oak barrels formerly used to make Sauvignon Blanc wine in Napa Valley. Our artisanal approach provides a unique profile, rich amber color, and personality that imparts oak, vanilla, cinnamon, berries, butterscotch, and fresh flowers. A true gem in quality and production.
